the giver by lois lowry shows a dark view on the future in which everything it the same everyone is the same they think they are happy and content all but one who knows what he is missing jonas relieves memories from the giver of life's real pain and pleasure
   my favorite part of the book is when jonas discovers the disturbing truth about his world it is my opinion that there is no such thing as a utopia no matter what a community will have problems the giver is an excellent example of this
